O’Donnell & Naccarato provided structural engineering services for the multi-level, 120,000 SF, Olympic-style, athletic training facility, which houses lacrosse, basketball, baseball and football training academies.

In order to make way for the new building an existing 1-story warehouse had to be demolished all while retaining a connecting 3-story office area that the owner wished to maintain and incorporate into the new facility. The former office building became what is now the front entry and houses offices, the restaurant and several activity rooms.

The facility contains an 80-yard grass turf field on the upper level, four regulation basketball courts on the second level and parking located at the lowest level. The third level offered structural challenges in several aspects. Due to the basketball courts located on the second level the building columns had to be located between the courts, creating nearly 60 foot spans. With no interior columns to be located on the fields, the roof structure is a clear span, gabled rigid frame, spanning over 115 feet.

Other spaces include; an adult fitness center, a weight lifting/training area, private party rooms and a 60-seat restaurant.
