O'Donnell & Naccarato provided structural engineering services for Thomas Jefferson University's newest facility, the Health Professions Academic Building at 901 Walnut Street in Philadelphia, PA. The project allows Jefferson to shift all ambulatory-care programs and academic offices out of the neuroscience hospital and across the street to new and renovated buildings. Jefferson's neuroscience hospital will use the vacated space for operating rooms and 28 inpatient beds, bringing its total bed count to 111.

The new 11-story, 85,600 SF steel-framed medical office building replaced a vacant 2-story building. The upper 6 stories cantilever 12 feet to the west over the adjacent clinical office building. To the north, a truss-framed connector element cantilevers 16 feet over Moravian Street providing a 10-story link to the Edison building. The structure is supported on a cast in place concrete mat foundation.
