Three O’Donnell & Naccarato Project Executives Promoted to Principal

Newly minted Principals James Behler, PE, SECB, Mark Orsini, PE, SE, and Brian Rawlings, PE, SECB are the latest additions to O’Donnell & Naccarato’s senior leadership, but are by no means new to the firm, each having led some of the most significant projects in O&N’s recent history.

James Behler, PE, SECB has more than twenty five years’ experience as a structural engineer, nineteen with O’Donnell & Naccarato. Jim’s resume includes a wealth of experience in the multi-family, mixed-use, healthcare, hospitality, education, and commercial sectors. He is currently leading landmark projects such as the 50-story W / Element Dual Hotel Philadelphia and nearly half a million square feet of expansion at Jefferson’s Cherry Hill and Washington Township Hospitals. Jim’s contributions also include the 28-story 1919 Market apartments, Temple University’s The Edge Student Village, renovation and expansion of the Pennsylvania Ballet’s new home on North Broad Street, and design of the Philadelphia Navy Yard’s first hotel, the Courtyard Philadelphia South. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University. Jim is a member of the ACE Mentor Program of America Eastern PA Chapter, AISC, DVASE, and NCEES.

In 1997, Mark Orsini, PE, SE began his structural engineering career at O’Donnell & Naccarato as a Drexel University Co-op. He earned dual Bachelors of Science degrees in Civil and Architectural Engineering from Drexel graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2001. Over the past sixteen years, Mark has designed and managed a range of highly complex healthcare, education, multi-family, commercial, and parking projects. His experience includes design of Capital Health’s 905,000 SF replacement medical center Hopewell Hospital, Drexel University’s Earle Mack School of Law, the 25-story Rivertower at Christina Landing residential tower, McLaren Health’s Flint, Michigan Proton Therapy Center, and major and minor projects numbering in the hundreds for Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. Currently, Mark is leading O&N’s team for Pinnacle Health’s 230,000 SF York Replacement Hospital and CUP. He is a member of AISC, DVASE, and NCEES.

The last twelve of Brian Rawlings, PE, SECB twenty one year career has been dedicated to O’Donnell & Naccarato. The Georgia native earned his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and a Bachelors degree in Physics from Furman University. Since joining O&N, Brian has managed the structural design of major educational, healthcare, multi-family, and mixed-use projects, including the recently completed 28-story 1213 Walnut Street apartment tower in Philadelphia. Brian has also led design of the MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper, Temple University’s Tyler School of Art, the vertical expansion of the 12-story Western Union Residences building, 777 South Broad Street apartments, and the PPA’s 8th and Filbert Streets Garage rehabilitation. In recent years, Brian has become O&N’s resident self storage expert having led more than 600 storage projects to date. Brian serves on the Board of Directors for the ACE Mentor Program of America’s Eastern PA Chapter and is also a member of ASCE, DVASE, and the Structural Engineering Certification Board.
