1112-1128 Chestnut Street
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Architect: Blackney-Hayes Architects
Construction Manager: Clemens Construction Co.
This adaptive-reuse project is a real game changer for the 1100 block of East Chestnut Street promising to bring residents and shoppers to an underutilized stretch of the bustling Center City neighborhood. O’Donnell & Naccarato is providing ongoing structural engineering services for the renovation and expansion of 1118-1128 Chestnut to create a mixed-use complex with 112 residential units situated above 90,000 SF of ground-level retail space. The oldest and most architecturally attractive 6-story, 79,000 SF building located at 1128 Chestnut is being converted to residential use. The undersized existing retail buildings located at 1112-1124 Chestnut were demolished to make way for a new 6-story (plus basement), 89,000 SF, multi-family residential/retail building.
This project was featured in a 6ABC story about Center City Philadelphia's growth and construction boom.
