Doral, FL

Complete structural engineering services to create a sculptural pavilion for Doral City Park, as envisioned by renowned artist, Michelle Oka Doner. The pavilion has a span of 46 feet and is constructed of reinforced concrete encasing a structural steel spline and cross members. The forms were created with 3D scanning, 3D modeling, and laser carving in expanded polystyrene.

The “Micco” downtown Doral Park pavilion was honored with 2nd Place Award in the Decorative Concrete Category of the 2015 American Concrete Institute (ACI) Excellence in Concrete Construction Awards, as well as Best of Show “Wow!” Award for 2015 (and the 1st Place Award for Concrete Artistry) from the Decorative Concrete Council of the American Society of Concrete Contractors.
