St. Barnabas Hospital
St. Barnabas Hospital is a non-profit hospital located in the Bronx, NY. Founded in 1866 and moved to the present location in 1874, St. Barnabas Hospital became the first chronic disease hospital in the United States. The non-profit status originates from when patients were treated without expenses, and thus the hospital needed donations to keep treating patients. Nowadays, St. Barnabas Hospital continues to provide access to healthcare services throughout the Bronx.
O’Donnell & Naccarato is currently providing engineering services for the façade repairs to two wings of the hospital that is located on the Bronx Campus of St. Barnabas Hospital. The original hospital building dates back to 1875 and is designed in the Georgian style. The hospital addition dates to 1950 and is designed in the Brutalist style. Both structures required atypical repair details to accommodate the distinct styles and materials of the structures. You can read more about our work at St. Barnabas Hospital here.
