Saint Joseph’s University McShain Hall Pedestrian Bridge

Location: Philadelphia, PA
Architect: John S. Sabatino Associates

O'Donnell & Naccarato provided structural engineering services for the new, approximately 160 ft-long and 20 ft-tall pedestrian bridge. The steel bridge, clad in limestone, spans City Avenue North-South connecting directly to McShain Residence Hall and was designed to mirror the Gothic architectural style of existing campus buildings. City Avenue is a major 4-lane artery in the area, so to avoid causing traffic congestion the bridge was built during nights and weekends only.
